Transmissions From the Field
This is what I do before the world awakens in the wee hours of the morning
Call it transdimensional communication, meditation, spiritual practice, oracular guidance, channeling, psychopomp and ancestor work, self-healing inquiry or some combination of all of these, or just call me crazy, I don’t mind.
The energies and entities in the Otherworld, on the other side of the veil that is not above or below us or on another planet but right here next to us, around us, on top of us, inside and behind and burrowed into all our crevices, they told me in the jungle at my darkest moment that they were here to help us, and they had just been waiting for us to remember to how establish communication. When I apologized to them for the mess I was in, soaked in vomit and shame and writing in pain, and for always asking for so much help, coming on my hands and needs to the well again and again, they gently shushed me, and revealed the whole interdimensional village like the wise elder Baba Kilindi Iyi used to speak of, weaving together all the beings and experiences for the sole purpose of helping each other remember how to die and be born over and over again, and they said not to apologize or feel sorry, because
“THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT WE’RE DOING.”
It was so endearing I burst out laughing, and I will remember it beyond this incarnation.
I don’t know how they would describe it in a culture that never forgot these ancestral communication frameworks and practices, but in the parlance of the carceral culture in which I was raised I will say that my return to the jungle was prompted by a nervous breakdown after losing five people close to me in quick succession during the winter and early spring of late 2024-early 2025. This came on the heels of my catastrophic injury, where I broke my pelvis and sacrum in five places and the astral came flooding in (a story I’ve told elsewhere and will here another time).
It is becoming clear that what we call psychosis is many things: spiritual and cosmological initiation, curricula for healers in training, and perhaps most commonly in my culture—unprocessed grief. This has powerful effects and, like any shadow material, it will continue to have its way with you until you face it.
These weavings and channelings all relate to these themes, and I share them raw here as I received them.
